About the boat

Technically a ship, The Milk Float was built in England in 2014. By day, she's a cosy cafe with Moo Canoes available for hire.

She moonlights as a splendid events venue & can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 40 people. Serving cream teas, hot snacks, ice cream floats & more, she's a great spot to enjoy the British Summertime in all its knickerbockerglory.

You can leave your rose-tinted glasses at home because our hot snacks & cold treats will be every bit as good as they tasted way back when.

We source things as locally as possible & all our cakes are baked on board. Our sausages are made up to our own recipe by the local butchers & we use real dairy ice cream.

The Milk Float is currently open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-6pm & based beside the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the Lea Navigation.

The closest station is Hackney Wick (3 minutes on foot). Turning left from the station, then left onto White Post Lane, you should see The Milk Float on your right hand side as you reach the canal. The nearest postcode is E9 5EN. Directions

If you fancy getting closer to the water, we also offer canoe hire & paddleboarding sessions. You'll be shown the ropes before you set off on your own adventure in the canoes - perfect for couples, families & groups. If you'd prefer paddleboarding, there's plenty on offer from breakfast to sunset. Paddleboarders can enter MILKFLOAT at the checkout to get a tasty discount.
