About the boat

Technically a ship, The Milk Float was built in England in 2014. By day, she's a cosy cafe with Moo Canoes available for hire.

She moonlights as a splendid events venue & can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 80 people. Serving locally made ice cream, dairy-free sorbets, freshly baked cakes & more, she's a great spot to enjoy the British summertime in all its knickerbockerglory.

You can leave your rose-tinted glasses at home because our hot snacks & cold treats will be every bit as good as they tasted way back when.

Our salted caramel and peanut praline ice cream is a firm favourite, knickerbockerglorys are great for sharing, and we fire up the BBQ when the sun shines! We source things as locally as possible & like to keep things fresh and seasonal.

The Milk Float is currently open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-6pm & can be found on the canal just off White Post Lane on the edge of
the Olympic Park.

The closest station is Hackney Wick (3 minutes on foot). Turning left from the station, then left onto White Post Lane, you should see The Milk Float on your right hand side as you cross over the canal. The nearest postcode is E9 5EN. Directions

If you fancy getting closer to the water, we also offer canoe hire. You'll be shown the ropes before you set off on your own adventure - perfect for couples, families & groups. If you're planning a celebration, we can also arrange kayaking and paddleboarding sessions for groups, just get in touch!
